Bren Sessions

Bren Sessions received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 1994 in Computer Science. His interests lie in optimization, spatial, and N-P complete problems. Since joining the ECE department in 1995, he has broadened his interests to include secret-key and public-key cryptography. He received his M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Çetin K. Koç.

Bren Sessions is currently working for Tektronix in Portland, Oregon.

His research has focused on software implementations of symmetric block ciphers. Based on both algorithmic and processor architectural advances, the research has yielded efficient implementations of the widely recognized block ciphers DES, RC5, and IDEA. In his thesis, he evaluated CPU architectures from Intel, including Pentium, Pentium MMX, and Pentium II.
